Cracking the code to scale your business
“Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Sidekick Studio!”
On March 30th, my fellow Sidekick co-founder Nora Griffiths and myself, came together with
a group of entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs in our very first Sidekick Studio. Sidekick Studio is a series of webinars, training sessions and round table talks for entrepreneurial minds to share experiences, learn, and find inspiration. In this first session, we introduced Sidekick’s Entrepreneurial Design framework.
Entrepreneurial Design™
Now, I can imagine you are thinking: WTF is Entrepreneurial Design™? Great question! Let me get into that.
Entrepreneurial Design™ is an iterative, inclusive, and intentional approach to helping you develop actionable strategies to scale your business idea to its full potential. (Read: help you be successful!)
What we have noticed over the years, working as and with many entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs, is that strategy is critical when scaling your business idea to its full impact. What’s that saying? “Failing to plan is planning to fail”.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not referring to a 50-page strategy document that will end up on a shelf and will never be looked at. What I am talking about is a simple plan on a page, to keep you and your team focused on the impact you are looking to make.
Entrepreneurial Design™ draws inspiration from proven iterative, inclusive, and intentional methodologies, like inclusive design thinking and EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) and defines your unique intersection of Purpose. Passion. Profit. People. Also referred to as the 4Ps.
The 4Ps To drive impact, and scale your business idea to its full potential, or solve a critical problem getting in the way of your success, we believe these 4Ps need to be aligned, work together holistically, and require an equal amount of focus.
1. Purpose
You are driven by your contribution to the world and stay true to this ‘why’
2. Passion
You know what you deliver on better than anyone else, and do it every day
3. Profit
You plan for long-term financial stability, practicing bottom-line thinking
4. People
You empower people to be the best version of themselves. You care.
A lack of focus or clarity on one of them may not cause harm in the short term but will set you up for failure in the long term. That may sound a little scary and overwhelming now, doesn’t it?
That is where the 4P Assessment comes in and will make your life easy. This simple tool helps you assess, track progress, and find any areas of focus for your business, by answering only 4 questions for each of the Ps!
